i7-4790k -- Slave
Start Date: 2014-11-22
- 2014-12-21
- Continuing issues:
- Re-verb distortion. Adjusting multiple
volume controls helps.
- The scanner won't restart until you reconnect
it's USB.
- deluge locks up
- delete ~/.config/deluge/ipc/deluge-gtk.lock
- 2014-12-19
- /etc/apache2/conf-available/secure-php.conf
- moved it from conf.d
- added .conf
- /etc/apache2/ports.conf
- remarked out
- NameVirtualHost *:80
- NameVirtualHost *:1977
- /etc/apache2/apache2.conf
- HostnameLookups On LINE 120
- /etc/php5/conf.d/lynch.ini doesn't exist any
more. The data was moved to:
- /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini
- /etc/php5/cgi/php.ini
- /etc/php5/cli/php.ini
- The three php.ini files are identical. We made
four changes to all three

- error_reporting = E_ALL LINE 462
- This used to be E_ALL & ~E_DEPRECATED
& ~E_STRICT
- It is causing "deprecated" warnings when
the scripts run.

- You can automate this on boot up.
- 2014-12-04
- That date is approximate. Upgrades to kubuntu 14.04
went so well on two computers that I upgrades the
server. That is when I found out the web page doesn't
work on any of them. I've been fighting it every since.
- 2014-11-29
- Printer cuts off left edge of text. See "printer.html". RESOLVED.
- 2014-11-28
- Setup Install, these programs don't exist or
are the wrong program
- psensor swat mysql-admin mysql-navigator
- /etc/apache2/mods-available/imagemap.load
- /etc/apache2/conf.d has become
- conf-available & conf-enabled
- The little progress bar that keeps popping up indicates a
change in screen brightness. As per this thread, disabling it
it is impossible. However you can edit your power management
so that the system never changes screen brightness (System
Settings > Hardware > Power Management > Energy Saving and
uncheck "Dim Screen" in every profile).

- Ryan says to load os from a usb stick I need
- dd
- lsscsi (lists scsi devices) (apt-get install)
- sg3-utils (apt-get install) (apt-get remove)
- I found the usb stick in directory /media. It
required root access. I still need dd to
burn an image to the stick.
- I found program "usb-creator" in Start Up
button search.
- 2012-11-11
- Upgraded from USB memory stick. Blank screen.
- It did not recognize my graphics card. The fix is:
- sudo apt-get install fglrx
- Kickoff Application Launcher (Start)
-> Applications -> System -> Additional
Drivers (or jockey-kde)
- Do NOT enable either nVidia driver.
- To boot from a USB memory stick use:
